Description Senior Accountant - Healthcare Company - Up to high $80s - Fully Remote

My client, a large healthcare provider, is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to play a key role in our finance department. The ideal candidate has experience in healthcare accounting and will be responsible for streamlining our accounting functions and operations, providing financial analysis and reports, promoting regulatory compliance, and driving income generation. Responsibilities: 1. Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department including medical claims lags, medical invoice billing, month and year-end process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll etc. 2. Regular review and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts owned by the Senior Accountant. 3. Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial/budget variance analysis. 4. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. 5. Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes. 6. Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments. 7. Evaluate and make improvements to accounting processes while ensuring that practices comply with organization accounting policies and applicable laws and regulations. 8. Train and guide entry level accountants and other staff, conducting performance reviews, and providing constructive feedback. Requirements Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant discipline. A Master's degree, CPA, or equivalent certification is preferred. 2. Minimum of three years of experience in accounting and financial management practices, preferably within the healthcare industry. 3. Experience in preparing medical claims lags and medical invoice billing is crucial. 4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong working knowledge of Excel. 5. Ability to work closely with a senior management team. 6. Excellent communication skills – verbal, written to include report writing and group presentations 7. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage priorities and workflow. The Senior Accountant will be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to multitask while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
