At MCC Tyrone we are looking to build a team while helping our associates build a long term career. We are looking to hire a Machine Operator or Press Assistant. This role will start in a support position helping our Printing Press Operators run job. As the associate learns more about how our facility runs they will have the chance to run finishing machines like slitters, rewinders, and turrets. Through consistent training our goal is to develop new Printing Press Operator, these the most experienced operators in the plant. These are entry level roles with opportunity for growth Starting pay rate is $16.50/hour plus shift differential Pay will go up based on experience Must be available for overtime Responsibilities: Keep Safety as the #1 priority Adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines. Report all safety concerns or issues to immediate supervisor. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Maintain a good attitude and be willing to learn. Operate different types of manufacturing equipment. May operate forklift occasionally. Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per the specification. Utilize a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure. Handle rolls and palletize them accordingly as to not cause damage to them. Must understand basic printing and seam related defects. Record and enter data on designated paperwork as well as in the company's operation system. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Experience in printing or manufacturing is a plus, but not required. Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to use simple windows based applications. Must be able regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
