Air National Guard Units HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST (TITLE 32) in Tyndall AFB, Florida

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1941000 and is part of the FL HQ 101 AOG, National Guard. Responsibilities As a Health System Specialist, GS-0671-09, you will manage Health Services activities, including plans and operations, human resource management, and medical staffing. Serve as the senior medical administration advisor for the medical group and is the installation's focal point for highly sensitive, privacy act and protected medical issues. Operate as a partner with the Surgeon General, Senior Management Staff and State Headquarters in planning, implementing, and executing the medical programs directly associated with the objectives of the AOG Commander and the ANG Medical Service. Ensure accomplishment of federal military and state supported medical missions. Provide medical guidance in support of contingencies, exercises, humanitarian and civic assistance duties. Work closely with all applicable agencies to ensure appropriate medical capabilities are available and supplied to meet identified medical support requirements. Responsible for maintaining compliance with all regulatory and legal force health management requirements; plan, organize, and implement Wing/Base programs, policies, and procedures. Perform duties necessary to accomplish medical program functions in support of programs essential to ANG Wing daily operations, training, and readiness missions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLANG BUS Code NG0523: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. The current exclusive representative is The Association of Civilian Technicians, Chapter 86 and the President is Mr. Robert Morgan at rmorgan@actnat.com MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted; E6 thru E7. Recruitment Incentive: May be paid to the candidate who is "newly appointed" into this federal government position. The bonus will NTE $7,500. Payment will be a lump sum payment at the beginning of employment. Candidate must agree in writing to remain in this position for a minimum of 12 months, and if they vacate that position for another technician, AGR or active-duty service position within the initial 12-month period, the Incentive may be recouped. Current onboard technicians, if selected, are not eligible for this bonus. POSITIVE EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: You must submit your transcripts and meet the below requirement. An Undergraduate Degree in Health Administration, Health Care Administration (or equivalent), Health Care Management, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration (or equivalent), Hospital Administration (or equivalent), or related fields such as, Primary Care Management. Other completed degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Information Systems Management, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering and Health Management/Health Systems Engineering, Operations Research or other closely related degree fields. OR A Graduate Degree in Health Administration, Health Care Administration (or equivalent), Health Care Management, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration (or equivalent), Hospital Administration (or equivalent), Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Information Systems Management, or other business-related equivalent. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience with medical readiness program of the state, which includes planning, coordinating, and providing guidance to all medical resources within the state; Experience with command health programs, medical/dental aspects of mobilization, deployment and operations, medical education, sustainment, proficiency training, credentialing of health care professionals; Experience with fiscal management, policy development and implementation.
