Job Overview:
McDermott is looking for an engineering intern to join our Mechanical Engineering team. As an intern, you will learn to perform mechanical engineering for power, oil and gas, and petrochemical projects under close supervision and mentoring. Support the design, analysis and preparation of complex project deliverables such as pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, and rotating equipment. Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development and supervising vendor packages for equipment and mechanical systems. You will work in a project team environment, engaging with peers and mentors as you develop and review engineering documentation and grow in your career.
Looking for an engineering intern from local university either recently graduated or a semester away from graduating. The intern position is from May 19, 2025, until August 15, 2025.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Specifications and Datasheets
Equipment material requisition
Technical bid evaluations
Equipment testing
Conceptual studies and calculations
Cost and planning studies
Essential Qualifications and Education:
At least a semester away from graduation, in a bachelor’s or master’s engineering curriculum
Strong analytical and mathematic skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management and professionalism
Experience with using MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel)
A growth mindset and willingness to learn and accept improvement feedback
Eligible to work in the United States
Preferred Qualitifcations and Education:
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
