Job Description

CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY

The Youth Services Center Case Manager provides assessment and support services for youth who are at risk of juvenile

justice involvement or are already justice involved, identifying appropriate interventions and strategies for immediate and

long-term success. Performs a variety of professional duties to coordinate services and assist families with juvenile

offenders as part of the Twin Falls Youth Services Center Program. Work includes conducting screenings, managing a

caseload; developing a service plan/contract; monitoring the juvenile\'s status and progress and reinforcing accountability;

preparing and maintaining accurate, time and complete files and reports; developing and maintaining positive relationships

with court staff, attorneys, school staff, and other professionals; and attending case-related meetings. The work is usually

performed in an office environment with frequent trips to schools, service providers, and other agencies.

Duties / Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrative only and may vary by assignment)

Deliver program services in accordance with agency vision, mission, and values along with applicable program

contracts, manuals, and guidelines, including collaboration with Juvenile Detention 4 hour hold program, Juvenile

Probation, and other community organizations;

Meets with youth and families and maintains case load and related paper work and files;

Administers risk assessment tool(s) during intakes and conduct program specific screenings, and evaluations;

Attempt to make contact and engage individuals referred by collaborating agency within no more than 72 business

hours of the referral;

Develops and monitors service plan/contracts;

Communicates with parents and juveniles regularly to monitor progress;

Motivate and encourage client engagement and follow through;

Prepares monthly and quarterly reports required for statistical purposes;

Works with the juvenile to reinforce and hold them accountable for the offense;

Conduct mediation sessions as necessary, at the direction of the Youth Services Clinician;

Identifies and maintains contact with community resources for juveniles and their families;

Work collaboratively with community service providers, school personnel, Law Enforcement, and families to deliver

solutions that improve to meet the needs of youth and families;

Coordinate workshops to address the needs of youth and families served at the TFYSC;

Prepares and maintains accurate and complete files and reports in a timely manner;

Coordination and implementation of services in assigned programs in compliance with all relevant state, federal, and

local provisions;

Responds to Commissioners\', elected officials\', County employees\' and citizens\' questions and comments in a

courteous and timely manner and under the direction of the supervisor;

Performs time management and scheduling functions, meets deadlines, and sets project priorities;

Provide after hour and on-call coverage for TFYSC referrals as necessary;

Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate co-workers to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of

interdepartmental operations and activities;

Maintains strict confidentiality in all cases;

Assists other department and County employees as needed or requested; and

Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with County policies, procedures and safety practices.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attends educational seminars; and

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

CLASSIFICATION REOUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of:

Juvenile Justice System and related programs, protocols, and procedures;

Community resources available for juveniles;

Operation of a personal computer and job-related software applications; Case management;

County and department policies, procedures, and practices;

Presentation and public relations skills;

File and information management methods and procedures; English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and

composition.
