Maintenance Employee - Laborer
Responsibilities: Under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Job consists of performing general maintenance on all buildings, athletic facilities, park facilities, cemetery, and golf course. Also involves the operation of tractors, mowing machines, trucks, and general maintenance equipment as directed.
Duties:
- Performs general maintenance in all parks and recreation areas including: cutting grass, trimming trees and shrubs, weeding, landscaping, cleaning shelters, restrooms, and concession facilities.
- Maintain athletic fields.
- Performs repair work on equipment and facilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Must have knowledge of common hand tools, materials, and standard equipment used in park andplayground maintenance construction and repair.
- Must have experience in operation of tractors, trucks, dump trucks, and mowing equipment.
- Must have the skills to keep maintenance records.
- Must have the skills to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must have the skills to perform manual tasks requiring physical strength and endurance under variable weather conditions.
- Must have some skill in the use of basic hand tools and the operation of power equipment.
- Must have High School Diploma or GED.
