Lactalis American Group is currently seeking 2nd & 3rd shift Production Supervisors to join ourCentral Valley Cheese (CVC)team inTurlock, CA.

From your PASSION to ours

The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the department is running smoothly and in a safe, productive way. Focus on production, quality, and people. Identifies, investigates, and works to solve any problems that arise. Under the direction of the Assistant Plant Director, supervisor will oversee all daily activities, which include supervision of milk receiving, production, sanitation, production specifications, product quality, and management of all personnel.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Analyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how these results positively or negatively affect plant performance.

  • Completes and maintains appropriate paperwork/reports, including production, line time, down time, and clean up check sheet.

  • Continuously evaluates manpower to attempt to reduce labor costs.

  • Monitors floor activities in department by checking machine speeds, adjusting equipment as necessary, and troubleshooting for the production workers on the lines.

  • Assists the Assistant Plant Director with planning and scheduling required personnel within the department, including temporary staffing if needed.

  • Be proactive and dynamic, flexible, and receptive to new ideas, down to earth and pragmatic, analytical and attentive to detail.

  • He or she will also be capable of working independently in adherence to regulations, of managing stress and remaining calm under pressure, and be able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skills.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education & Experience

• Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school.

• 2 – 3 years of experience in production (food production preferred) or equivalent.

Specialized Knowledge

• Knowledge of proper operating procedures for cheese making related equipment such as: DMC,

cooker, and extractors; Word and Excel software.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• Understanding and ability to implement and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices.

• Ability to manage and direct production schedules.
