The Transmission Pipeline Integrity Management Program (TIMP) team is seeking a motivated individual to support the execution of risk analysis and risk reduction projects within the Pipeline Integrity Engineering team. The Pipeline Integrity Engineer will be primarily responsible for providing support through the collection, integration, and QA/QC of pipeline integrity data. This role plays a critical part in the continued development of Pipeline Integrity programs and processes.

What You Will Do

  • Support the development and implementation of the Transmission Pipeline Integrity Management Program (TIMP) data gathering, integration, and quality assurance program. Follow established processes for scoring data quality. Provide analysis and reports of data Quality Assurance (QA) assessment progress and findings according to Integrity Program, 49 CFR 192.917, and ASME B31.8S data elements.

  • Execute assigned initiatives to improve current data collection and integration programs across multiple organizations as required to support Transmission Integrity Management Program (TIMP) data needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish refined data capture processes, such as Maximo integrated field data collection, automated geo-spatial locating, digital defect and repair data capture, etc.

  • Establish engineered digital data capture processes where possible to reduce process inefficiencies and quality issues.

  • Assist with the development, analysis, and reporting out of Transmission Integrity Management Program compliance reports. Included but not limited to:

  • Monthly and annual reporting of integrity performance indicators including pipeline leaks, ruptures, equipment failures, and operational limits exceedances.

  • Annual PHMSA reports.

  • American Gas Association Report

  • Report on TIMP data quality and the progression towards data quality improvements.

  • Support project coordination among area regions, departments (Customer Development, Operating, and Customer Services), and contractors.

  • Provide support to regional TIMP engineering personnel, as required, to maintain continual support of regional integrity management needs.

  • Maintain a comprehensive suite of dashboards based BI systems for reporting and reviewing TIMP performance measures. Facilitate continual views of data quality measures, assessment tracking, threat profiling, preventive and mitigative measures effectiveness, and consequence area mitigation strategies effectiveness.

What You Will Need

Preferred bachelor's degree in engineering

Working knowledge of piping plan standards and related governmental regulations. Demonstrated ability with application of math, algebraic formulas, calculus, and statistics. Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and software such as AutoCAD, Stoner, Excel, Access, and other relevant software.

Experience and training related to:

  • Customer services field policies and procedures

  • Transmission/distribution pipeline operations

  • Company/governmental operating and safety procedures

  • Line extension and relocation policies and procedures

Identify, research, evaluate, and prioritize problems or specific situations and coordinate appropriate action/response.

Research and prepare pipeline construction contracts, pipeline capacity lease (PCL) requests, budget projects, job orders, material requisitions, engineering studies, and correspondence.

Read and interpret governmental regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, charts, surveys, load studies, and multiple reports and correspondence.

Interact, negotiate, advise, and communicate effectively.

Develop information and make presentations to groups and individuals.

Read and write fluently in English.

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification

Applicable driver's license.

Mobility to travel in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites out of doors.

Operate tools and equipment required.

Communicate and exchange information; conduct oral presentations.

Visual abilities to perform job responsibilities.
