University Village Dining Services Cook in Tulsa, Oklahoma

We are seeking an experienced Cook to prepare breakfast and lunch for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, a passion for serving older adults, and the ability to follow established menus and dietary guidelines. Key responsibilities include prep work, cooking, portioning, and presenting meals, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Prior experience in cooking for large groups, especially in a healthcare or senior living setting, is a must. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

This position will require working in shifts and during weekends and holidays.

Hourly pay $17.00 - $19.00 dependent upon role and previous experience.

Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday, 5:00am - 1:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Prepare necessary food for meal according to menu and prep sheet

  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, boiling, baking, etc)

  • Break down and cue up the serving line and all other food areas

  • Plate food for residents as ordered with attention to appearance

  • Complete daily cleaning assignments

  • Maintain and clean kitchen equipment

  • Minimize food waste with proper food storage and rotation

  • Experience in using cutting skills, cookware, and bakeware

  • Assists inventory manager with ordering

  • Provide necessary assistance to the Dining Services Manager

  • Follow all relevant health department regulations

  • Provide excellent customer service to residents

Requirements

  • Ability to read, interpret and appropriately scale recipes and instructions

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Flexibility to work in shifts

  • Active listening and effective communication skills

  • Attentiveness and patience for residents

  • Food Handler’s Card from the Tulsa County Health Department
