VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Technician - Surgery Department in Tucson, Arizona
VCA Valley Animal Hospital & Emergency Center is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our Surgery Department.
The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.
In addition to standard CVT skills, the Surgery Department values:
Excellent Client & Patient Handling while working with complex surgical cases
A passion for all things anesthesia: anesthesia plan/protocol creation, induction, maintenance, monitoring, & recovery of patients ASA score I - IV
Knowledge & competency in surgical patient prep, surgical assistance, & surgical instrumentation
Nursing care, husbandry, bandaging, & clinical practice skills for small animal, avian, & exotic companion mammal patients
Ability to communicate effectively with & flexibility to support various hospital departments (Primary Care, Emergency, Internal Medicine, Dental, ICU, Exotics), embracing the culture of whole hospital team cohesiveness

Compensation varies based on education, experience, and current AZ CVT license: $17 - 24/hour (includes scale for licensed & unlicensed Veterinary Technicians). VTS compensation negotiable.
CE allowance: $750/year for CVT, $1000/year for VTS
Typical schedule for this department is:
Monday/Wednesday 7:45am - 6pm & Tuesday/Thursday 7am - 6pm with voluntary on call shifts (including nights & weekends).
Flexible schedule availability & the ability to work occasional holidays & weekends are a must.
Full time only.
