Bombardier Specialist, EHS Program - West Region in Tucson, Arizona

This position will be based onsite in Tucson, AZ.

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate workload, cross functional team members, and prioritize projects across multiple sites

  • Basic knowledge of Physics and Chemistry concepts, for example, volume, velocity, flow, and dispersion, chemical reactions, chemical compounds, chemical properties, vapor pressure, and degradation of chemicals

  • Working knowledge of incident command system and emergency response procedures

  • Project management skills necessary to develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs involving, for example, procedures, training, record-keeping, monitoring, and reporting requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations, Industry standard requirements, and Company policies concerning EHS practices for assigned EHS programs

  • Basic knowledge of on-site authorities and off-site resources for resolution of potential EHS issues

  • Working knowledge of environmental sampling procedures, techniques, and equipment (as required by assigned programs), for example, containers, preservatives, chain-of-custody, soil sampling, grab sampling, waste water sampling, monitor well sampling, and analytical methods and requirements

  • Training skills necessary to provide instruction and education to employees on EHS-related topics and issues

  • Evaluation skills necessary to review and monitor business activity and operations for compliance with International, Federal, State, local, and company EHS programs

ADDITIONAL DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in related field, product support, procurement, program / project management and material logistics

  • Working knowledge of formal employee performance appraisal and employee development process for Bombardier Aerospace (e.g., PMP/PDP)

  • Budgeting skills necessary to develop budget and forecast expenditures

How to thrive in this role?

  • Typically 3-5 years of experience in administering EHS programs

  • Bachelors Degree in related field (Preferred)

  • Must complete a minimum of 40 hours of training within 6 months from original date of hire into classification including 10 hours of additional training per year thereafter

  • Must be able to travel when needed (30% or more)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Adhere to Bombardier General Work Rules

  • Develop EHS site goals and objectives for frequency rates (FR) and severity rates (SR)

  • Perform lead functions (i.e., work assignments, mentoring, and assisting with PMP/PDPs) for employees in their role as EHS contacts across BBAS Service Centers

  • Communicate with all levels of management across BBAS Service Centers regarding EHS activities, for example, policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, corporate directives, and developing strategic initiatives

  • Assist with negotiations and provide formal responses to regulatory agencies concerning EHS program administration, corrective action plans, and inspection discrepancies, for example, EPA and KDHE

  • Perform initial ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 site certification activities, for example, obtain site management support and buy-in, conduct management training, and performing pre-certification audits
