Raytheon Technologies Electrical Engineer II – ECAD PCB Layout in Tucson, Arizona
The Electrical Product Development and Prototyping Department at Raytheon Missiles & Defense is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our team as an Electrical Computer Aided Designer (ECAD).

Job Description:
Responsible for printed circuit board (PCB) designs from conception to manufacturing including schematic capture, component placement, routing, Gerber / ODB++ file creation, and all documentation using the Mentor Graphics and BluePrint toolsets.
Design layouts include rigid, flex, and rigid-flex assemblies.
Responsible for interfacing with electrical, mechanical, and producibility engineering disciplines to ensure that the overall design requirements are captured and accomplished.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Minimum of 2 years of PCB layout experience
Previous work history in and understanding of circuit manufacturing principles that affect circuitry and component layout
Previous experience working with mechanical components and being able to understand and interpret drawings as they relate to PCBs and CCAs
Experience with the electrical design process and laying out Rigid, Flex, and/or Rigid-Flex PCBs
Candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Desired skills:
Working knowledge of analog, digital, RF, and mixed technology, multi-layer designs with HDI technology
Technical PCB design skills using the Mentor Graphics design toolset including, but not limited to the Xpedition Enterprise tool suite with working knowledge of Xpedition VX.2.5, to include schematic capture, placement, routing, use of the auto-router, Constraint Manager, and EDM Library Cockpit, use of BluePrint to create complex PCB and CCA drawings
Export manufacturing data in both Gerber and ODB++ and use of Valor NPI Design Rule Checking software
Familiarity with IPC 6012 & IPC 6013 is a plus
Working knowledge of military and commercial design standards, GD&T techniques, and overall producibility considerations related to electronic packaging design is desired
Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong customer interaction skills with engineers of all levels
Must be able to communicate effectively through various means up to and including telecoms, Skype (or other instant messaging programs), video conferencing, etc.
Ability to effectively multi-task
Must be able to assist in developing technical solutions to complex problems through use of ingenuity and creativity with moderate supervision
Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work autonomously while establishing schedule and priority needs
Must be proactive not only within their own discipline, but be able to apply those qualities to other similar/complementary disciplines with minimal supervision
Working knowledge of operating system concepts and implementations, network services as related to Microsoft Windows environment (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Willingness to work extended hours (nights and/or weekends) as required to complete assigned tasking
Active Secret DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required) or the ability to obtain and retain one
