Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest Electrical Contracting Project Manager in Tucson, Arizona

This opening is for a full time Project Manager to manage a new Man Camp/Temporary Housing project in Bagdad Arizona. The position would be for the duration of the project (1-2 years) with the potential to transition to a full-time Project Manager at one of Commonwealth Electric’s Arizona office locations (Tucson, Phoenix, or Casa Grande) upon completion of this project.

    Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare, issue, and maintain purchase orders, submittals, invoices, subcontracts, timesheets, requests for information, change orders and all other project management paperwork.

  • Project billings (provide timely progress billings).

  • Manage project cash flow.

  • Utilize and maintain project reporting systems. Monitor on-site job progress.

  • Prepare/Coordinate cost estimates as required.

  • Review and administration of contracts and subcontracts.

  • Determine and coordinate labor requirements.

  • Actively manage all day-to-day construction activities.

  • Develop, foster, and maintain professional relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Market company services to potential customers.

  • Participate in trade organizations and community involvement activities.

  • All other duties as assigned and required.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Practical electrical field knowledge and/or experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/construction drawings.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical construction and the construction industry in general.

  • Superior communication skills. Both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work on a team and build working relationships within all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to perform with or without close supervision.

  • Strong computer skills

  • Detail-oriented with drive to accomplish set goals.

  • Must exhibit an energetic and positive attitude.

    Education and Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 5 years minimum of electrical/construction project management experience preferred.

  • Will consider equivalent experience and education on a case-by-case basis.
