We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Director, Contracts to lead and oversee a large, complex , production contracts within the Air Dominance product line within the Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) strategic business unit. We are seeking a leader with business acumen, initiative, and a positive can-do attitude. The role will be an integral part of a team providing strategic solutions and dynamic recommendations to key team members regarding contractual issues and proposal strategies. The Air Dominance product line is a challenging, fast-paced environment, and this role must serve as a trusted business adviser to program stakeholders.

Additionally, this position will work closely with Raytheon key team members by advising on contractual rights and obligations and means to mitigate contractual/program risks , compiling and analyze data, maintaining historical information, and providing recommendations for a balanced business deal.

What You Will Do:

  • Guide, manage, and strategically lead the Air Dominance production contracts team to continuously improve the overall quality, capability, and bench strength of the contracts organization

  • Lead the 2-3 members of the Air Dominance contracts team

  • Partner with the Program Managers and Directors to ensure financial targets are met by securing contract awards, negotiating contract payment terms, and working closely with the customer to ensure on-time payment

  • Manage multiple contracts as the primary interface with the customers’ Prime Contracting Officers (PCOs)

  • Work closely with program teams within in a matrix environment of program management, engineering, finance, operations, supply chain, and quality functional leaders

  • Act as a key team member of the capture team and establish negotiation strategy, targets, and minimums within approved authority

  • Ensure customer’s requirements are fully understood and flowed through to the capture team and to external suppliers in coordination with Supply Chain in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications

  • Conduct timely and effective negotiations and resolution of customer issues to improve key financial metrics (i.e., bookings, sales, cash, profit, etc.)

  • Work independently, yet recognize matters that require leadership review and buy-in

  • Multi-task routine and complex contract and proposal activities while responding to unplanned quick response requirements as they emerge

  • Draft complex letters that communicate Raytheon's business position effectively

  • Travel to other Raytheon customer locations as required

Qualifications You Must Have:

Education & Experience

  • Typically requires a University degree and 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 10 years’ experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (Secret) is required

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience in Government contract administration under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)

  • Experience negotiating agreements such as Cost Plus, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Fixed Price Incentive Fee, Firm Fixed Price or Time & Materials

  • Experience leading, developing & guiding a contracts team

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • MBA or JD preferred

  • Independent decision making and leader of change

  • Experience with OTA and/or Agile Contracting

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Prior experience working in a controlled area (SCIF)

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
