We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Tucson, Arizona. The role focuses on the accurate coding of bills to the appropriate General Ledger accounts and locations, ensuring efficient operation within our accounting department. You will also be required to process and verify invoices for timely payments, attend relevant meetings, and perform any other duties assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately code bills to the correct General Ledger accounts and location

• Validate if purchase order approval is required and ascertain due dates on bills

• Attach relevant documentation of bills, approvals, and purchase orders to bill entry in Sage Accounting Software

• Verify due dates on invoices to ensure timely payments

• Attend meetings as appropriate to position and participate in relevant training sessions

• Display attention to detail in all tasks

• Operate Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Excel proficiently

• Execute accounting functions, specifically in relation to Accounts Payable

• Process checks and perform data entry tasks

• Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, Sage, and Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge of Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in Check Processing and Data Entry

• Ability to identify and resolve Discrepancies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in an Accounts Payable Specialist role or similar

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Prior experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiarity with Check Processing

• Strong Data Entry skills required

• Ability to identify and resolve Discrepancies effectively
