Salary Grade: 6\ \ Pay Range\ Hiring Range: \$20.10 - \$23.62 Per Hour\ Full Range: \$20.10 - \$27.14 Per Hour\ \ Salary offers are based on the candidate\'s equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.\ \ The Pima County Fleet Services Department is currently hiring Fleet Services Support Specialist II in our Fuel Management division.The primary functions of this position include managing and monitoring fuel inventory as well as the repair and maintenance of fuel station equipment. This position also participates in ADEQ and EPA monitoring and reporting. The ability to establish positive working relationships with fuel vendors is essential.
Duties/Responsibilities

- Leads, coordinates and participates in complex fleet services activities, i.e., approving/creating repairs/work orders, inspection/approval of major repairs performed by County mechanics, contractors or vendors to assure optimal use of available resources and to minimize disruption of service or support;
- Leads, participates in and coordinates complex administrative support activities and processes with other departmental sections or divisions and other County departments or outside agencies directly or through assigned staff ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, specifications, contracts, industry standards and statutory codes and requirements;
- Trains assigned staff, serves as subject matter expert, participates in verifying, ordering, tracking and receiving parts and equipment for vehicles and systems;
- Oversees and participates in ordering miscellaneous shop and safety supplies and tools used in support of Fleet Services;
- Creates and maintains, or directs the maintenance of, specialized databases including inputting and retrieving data, and production of complex computer-based reports;
- Reserves, confirms and dispatches motor pool vehicles to County employees, ensuring the vehicles are in clean operational condition;
- Oversees and participates in creating and monitoring work orders for all County fleet vehicles;
- Inspects and monitors quality control of vehicles, which have been repaired or maintained ensuring all required work has been as specified on the work order;
- Performs common light maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles;
- Oversees and assists with receiving and issuing new vehicles, including overseeing and assisting with the vehicle accident process, including coordination with vendors, customers and Risk Management;
- Prepares oral and written reports using manual and automated systems;
- Oversees and participates in maintenance and repair of County fuel station equipment, including but not limited to fuel tanks, dispensers and Veeder Root equipment, and ensuring that fuel stations remain compliant with internal policy, procedures and external environmental agencies;
- May supervise and evaluate assigned staff, make effective recommendations on hiring, termination and related personnel activities, including acting as unit supervisor in their absence;
- Coordinates mobile fuel deliveries for off-road equipment in the field; may include the operation of the mobile fuel truck based on work assignment and department need.
Minimum Qualifications
(1) A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate AND three years of experience in any combination of the following: ordering, receiving and issuing automotive parts and supplies in a commercial, industrial or automotive repair facility environment; reserving, dispatching and maintaining motor pool vehicles in an automotive rental environment; working in an automotive service writer environment which includes creating repair and maintenance work orders, quality control of completed work, performing minor repair and maintenance on vehicles and direct customer interface; or working in a fuel management environment.
