The Interstate 35 Community School, conveniently located 30 minutes south of Des Moines, is seeking candidates for full time cook toassist in the preparation and serving of food as directed by the supervisor for the 2024-2025 school year. This would be a full time 8 hour position from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm Monday through Friday with similar days off as the students.Essential functions of this position include but not limited to: Shall be knowledgeable and capable of operating all the equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Shall be familiar with and capable of assuming any assignment in the total operation in case of an emergency or absentee. Shall attend training courses as recommended by supervisor. Shall assist in daily cleanup. Shall assist in menu preparation and the selection of food. Shall assist in conducting inventories and other administrative details as deemed necessary. Shall assist in the organization, stacking and care of the supply area. Shall wear the proper garment and accessories as required and deemed suitable. Shall exhibit a concern for cleanliness and safety at all times. Shall assist in minimizing waste. Shall assist in the encouragement and the instilling of good eating habits. Shall be responsible for a medical examination every three years by a licensed physician
Specific Manual Dexterity Requirements:
Complete movement of hands, feet and all fingers. Twisting of all body parts, especially wrists, fingers, hands, feet and body. Excellent eye-hand coordination and body mobility are necessary. Dexterity in both hands (hands doing different tasks at the same time) is extremely important. Visual perception required.
Qualifications:
HS Diploma and clean background check.
