ITW Project Manager - North American Warewash and Waste Division in Troy, Ohio
Illinois Tool Works (ITW) is a Fortune 200 company that produces diversified products in global markets. The Food Equipment Group is one of seven ITW decentralized business segments. The Warewash and Waste Division of ITW’s Food Equipment Group, is seeking a Project Manager. Reporting to the Director of Operations and Sourcing, this position will work from the ITW Hobart Technology Center, located about 20 minutes north of Dayton in Troy, OH.
The Warewash and Waste Division produces Hobart, Stero, and Somat brand commercial dishwashers and waste equipment for use in hotels, casinos, restaurants, health care, cruise ships, schools and universities and retail. The division is growing its business through sales strategies, a pipeline of new product development (NPD), and enhanced customer facing approaches.
As the Warewash Division expands its presence in new and existing served markets, there are a variety of projects required to support the division’s growth, organizational structure and business strategy alignment.
We are in search of a Project Manager who will take on the management of key projects with the responsibility to deliver all projects on time, within budget and scope. The successful candidate will work individually and lead project teams to develop a detailed project plans, determine the resources required to complete projects, and manage change utilizing appropriate procedures. Additionally, the Project Manager will track progress, measure project performance, provide status updates to division leadership, and partner cross functionally to achieve project goals. Building relationships with stakeholders, and creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, are critical to success in this role.
The Project Manager will also have the responsibility of training others in areas to support our business:
Become the subject matter expert and train others on the business unit’s continuous improvement processes
Teach project management skills so others in the division can be self-directed in the project management process
The successful candidate will:
Lead through positive influence to achieve project results
Lead projects that have P&L impact
Monitor project performance and results and initiate actions to correct deviations to schedules, excessive costs, or scope
Work with and gain a deep understanding of the needs and capabilities of different functional teams within the company (engineering, marketing, administration and operations)
Establish schedules, resource requirements, budgets, and measurements to fulfil project requirements
We are seeking results-oriented, self-motivated candidates. The preferred minimum qualifications are:
BS in Engineering or Business
5+ years of successful project leadership experience
Proven record of designing and implementing successful projects meeting cost, quality and schedule
Ability to assess situations to determine urgency, risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and that support project team assignments
Demonstrated technical understanding and/or hands-on experience in manufacturing
Strong analytical skills
Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Excellent written, verbal and documentation skills
Proficiency in MS Office and project management software
Project Management Professional certification (PMP) is preferred
Knowledge of ITW Toolbox principles is preferred

Specific vision abilities required by this job include the following: close, distance, peripheral, depth and ability to adjust focus.
