Material Services Supervisor 3^rd^ Shift

The Material Services Supervisor ensures a safe, quality focused, efficient operation. Communicates across departments to plan, organize, and monitor shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of all items produced or received either from suppliers or production shops. Meet internal and external customer requirements by leading a smooth and consistent operation ensuring parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in and safe and efficient manner. This position requires integrity and commitment to communication, leadership, safety, quality, organization, planning, training, accountability and self-discipline. * Position Responsibilities*:

  • Ensures all safety guidelines are being followed and makes improvement suggestions.  Understands safety DART rate, able to perform incident investigation, document, identify counter measures, review with associates, and implement change.
  • Ensures quality through verification, support and training of Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.
  • Schedules and assigns associates to safely and efficiently meet daily work assignments and department goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring that assigned projects are accomplished as planned.
  • Trains, motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of Warehouse, Receiving and Shipping associates. Ensuring their ability to safely operate material handling equipment, follow material handling standards, and move materials to and from storage configurations.
  • Monitors the loading, unloading and storage of all materials. Ensures materials are staged for audit and inspection.
  • Prioritizes housekeeping and ensures associates understand how housekeeping and the lack of housekeeping impacts safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Understands and supports inventory management by ensuring accuracy of material movement and scanning, FIFO, and cycle counting.
  • Responsible for preparing for and performing physical inventory tasks.
  • Provides and maintains equipment and structure to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials.
  • Ensures effective associate relations. Provides associate coaching and development.  Resolves associate issues through problem resolution, coaching, counseling, and discipline as needed.
  • Communicates when issues are found.
  • Interview and recommend applicants for hire as warehouse, shipping and receiving associates.
  • Ensures accurate reports. Resolves discrepancies with Accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
  • Assists in development of annual budget requirements. Anticipates and requests resources for future business requirements.
  • Covers associates during breaks or to fill in for absenteeism as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

**Qualifications:

**

High School Diploma and 2+ years material management supervisory experience in manufacturing. B.S. or B.A. Degree in Business Management, Industrial Management or related field preferred.

Must possess the effective oral and written communication.

Understanding and have experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts.

Follows all safety behavior requirements of the company -- including PPE; bump cap, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, uniform, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
