Unity House Cook Assistant in Troy, New York

Unity House of Troy is looking for Cook Assistant to join our Food and Nutrition Services Program. New to cooking? You will be trained to develop skills needed to succeed!

This is a Monday – Friday position.

$750 sign on bonus for eligible candidates

Responsibilities:

Assist with food prep, following all food safety guidelines.

Maintain daily cleaning routines.

Maintain a clean environment.

Assist employees of Food and Nutrition Program with their prep needs.

Provide coverage for other locations as needed.

Assist with set up of Community Meals as needed.

Assist clients and staff as needed during Community Meals or at other locations.

Promote an environment of inclusion and belonging.

Requirements:

Applicants need a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds independently. Valid/clean New York State Driver’s License required. A willingness to learn.
