Resource Point Llc Database Administrator in Troy, Michigan
Work on MS SQL Server DBMS; perform Capacity Management, Security Management, High Availability Management, Backup and Recovery Management, Performance Tuning, and Process Improvements. Perform administration and maintenance of SQL Server instances. Perform setup of test, development, staging, and production environments. Create linked servers between SQL servers and other databases for querying and accessing other databases. Design backup strategy for databases based on criticality and size of databases. Monitor database backups and perform periodic testing. Recover databases (point in time if necessary) as a part of the maintenance or DR (disaster recovery) process. Set up high availability as part of the database's Disaster Recovery Strategy. Use Failover Clustering, Database Mirroring, Always Availability Groups, and Replication. Troubleshoot and resolve issues. Monitor server and database performance. Optimize and tune servers and databases for optimal performance and the best possible query/batch execution. Document major changes to SQL Servers. Use SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio), SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), SQL Server Configuration Manager, Report Configuration Manager, Databricks, MongoDB, DevOps and AWS.
Work Location: Various unanticipated work locations throughout the United States; relocation may be required. Must be willing to relocate.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Master -- Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Experience: One (1) year
