What You Will Do

The SaaS Continuity Engineering team is responsible for the design and build of the systems and services that enables Oracle to deliver industry-leading availability and performance objectives for Oracle’s SaaS services. The team architects and develops high-availability and service continuity solutions across the entire stack – infrastructure, database, platform, and application services – and all the dependent components. The engineering innovations enable SaaS services to be available to customers without any disruptions even during large-scale incidents. We are building the next-gen service continuity solutions in a fast-pace and innovative environment and looking for an Architect who can design and develop services that operate at scale.

As a Middleware Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring that our SaaS services are designed and built with the highest level of availability and resiliency in mind. You will Design and build major Intergration and Platform layer features and launching them into production. You will collaborate with other engineering teams responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing SaaS Services and underlying platform in a distributed cloud environment. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and must understand large-scale systems. This role will develop service continuity solutions, contribute to the product strategy, and contribute to the development of next generation availability and resiliency features for Oracle’s SaaS cloud environment.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • MS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields

  • Working experience in cloud infrastructure services including compute, storage, load balancer and networking services

  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages for developing automations

  • Development experience in Java, C++, or similar OO languages

  • Experience with containers (Dockers, Kubernetes) and other cloud native components

  • Experience in designing and deployment resilient and fault tolerant systems

  • 8+ years' experience developing solutions for large enterprise systems in cloud

  • 8+ years software development experience in Oracle / AWS / Azure / GCP, Middleware products and technologies

  • Strong experience in networking technologies

  • Knowledge and experience in using cloud deployment tools like Ansible, Terraform

  • Experience working with multiple engineering teams across organizations

  • Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences

  • Comfortable in a collaborative, agile development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with large-scale services on a public cloud platform (Examples: AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle)

  • Extensive experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies

  • Understanding of distributed computing and cloud-based platforms

  • Experience and understanding of cloud infrastructure services

  • Good customer & executive communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
