Job Summary:
The EH&S Technician shares responsibility for the implementation of the EH&S management system, in order to meet business objectives and support facility compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and occupational safety and health regulations.
Under general direction, provides hands-on environmental, industrial hygiene (IH), and health and safety (H&S) activities. Requires established basic EH&S skills, or laboratory skills, to perform a range of routine work activities using existing EH&S procedures and/or analytical/ scientific methods.
Acts as resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards.
Coaches teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks and activities.
Assists in developing and achieving EH&S goals.
Performs/coordinates certain Environmental and IH monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant.

Responsibilities:
Conduct Workplace Assessments and determine corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Perform periodic inspections following existing protocols.
Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
Investigate minor accidents or incidents under the direction of an onsite EHS professionals.
Conduct instructor-led training on EHS topics.
Support continuous improvement of EHS programs.
Collect data for management/environmental reporting at the direction of supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes.
Physical Requirements:
The ability to climb, kneel, reach, and walk. The ability to push, pull, and lift. The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication. Lifting up to 35lbs/15kg of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual acuity to perform close activities such as: reading, writing, and analyzing; and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations. The working environment includes a variety of physical conditions including: noise, inside and outside conditions including temperature changes; atmospheric conditions including: odors, fumes, and dust.
Qualifications:
High School diploma, Associates Degree, or Bachelors' Degree.
3 years of experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability manage time effectively and able to take direction.
Ability to act as a leader, motivate team, and provide constructive feedback to personnel.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Experience with MS Office Suite.
Ability to read and understand documentation and standard operating procedures.
Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.
Able to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR Certification, Hazardous Materials Training, RCRA Certification.
Base Pay Range: $65,000- $90,000 annually
