County of Jones Veteran Services Driver (P/T) in Trenton, North Carolina
Salary - $14.32 per hour
DUTIES: This part-time position involves driving Jones County vans to transport Jones County veteransto appointments at various locations.
The work schedule is flexible, with hours varying based on need.While the total weekly hours will not exceed 20, the specific number of hours per day and the daysrequired will fluctuate. Applicants must be available to work between 5:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Mondaythrough Friday, with occasional work required after 5:00 PM for appointments in distant locations.Flexibility and adaptability are essential for this role.
This position requires the ability to exercise considerable tact, courtesy and discretion in contact with theelderly, disabled and diverse interest groups. Must be an effective team member, flexible, organized andhave interpersonal skills. The ideal applicant should be flexible and available to work upon short notice.A strong familiarity with Jones County roads will enable the applicant to perform their duties moreefficiently and effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicant must be over 21 years old, possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License with NO MOVING VIOLATIONS within the past 3 years.
- A preemployment drug screen is required.
- Physically, the applicant must be able to lift 60 lbs., maneuver and secure passengers using mobility devices into and out of vans.
- Driving history and criminal background checks are required.
