Job Description:

As a School Speech Therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the communication needs of our students. We are looking for a professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students and can start immediately.Hours per week: 40

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify and diagnose speech and language disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's unique needs.
  • Provide engaging therapy sessions to students with speech and language challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the school environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development.
  • Adapt therapy techniques to suit the needs of the students.
  • Provides speech therapy services to exceptional children students.
  • Evaluates, screens and observes students.
  • Write evaluation reports, progress notes, and individualized education plans.
  • Participates in individual education plan meetings with parents.
  • Plans appropriate therapy instructions.
  • Communicates with parents, teachers, administrators and coordinates therapy with the teachers
  • Attend IEP meetings

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) or state equivalent.
  • North Carolina state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Proven experience in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to adapt therapy techniques to suit the needs of the students.
