Job Description:
As a School Speech Therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the communication needs of our students. We are looking for a professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students and can start immediately.Hours per week: 40
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify and diagnose speech and language disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Provide engaging therapy sessions to students with speech and language challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the school environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development.
- Adapt therapy techniques to suit the needs of the students.
- Provides speech therapy services to exceptional children students.
- Evaluates, screens and observes students.
- Write evaluation reports, progress notes, and individualized education plans.
- Participates in individual education plan meetings with parents.
- Plans appropriate therapy instructions.
- Communicates with parents, teachers, administrators and coordinates therapy with the teachers
- Attend IEP meetings
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) or state equivalent.
- North Carolina state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Proven experience in a school setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to suit the needs of the students.
