We are seeking a Income Maintenance Coordinator II (Food and Nutrition Services).
Description: IMC II- Food and Nutrition ServicesEmployees in this role are responsible for determining and re-determining applicant eligibilityfor income maintenance programs within a County Department of Social Services (DSS). Thisincludes intake, processing, reviewing applications, and managing multiple programs. Keyresponsibilities involve interviewing clients, verifying information, determining eligibility,conducting program reviews, and explaining program requirements.Employees interpret and apply frequently changing state and federal policies to ensure accurateeligibility determinations. They use various computer programs to verify information, maintainaccurate case files, and manage caseloads to ensure timely and correct benefits issuance.Additional tasks include educating clients on budgeting, completing recertifications, andmaintaining updated information across programs.Employees handle sensitive and confidential information (e.g., Social Security numbers,employment and medical data) and must maintain strict security protocols to protect clientinformation. Work is typically performed under the supervision of an Income MaintenanceSupervisor.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience asan Income Maintenance Caseworker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of the program/areas of assignment.
- General knowledge of all agency and community programs and services which could affect the client/applicant.
- Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations and procedures.
- Ability to communicate with clients/applicants, the public at large, and public officials to obtain data, and to explain and interpret rules, regulations and procedures.
- Ability to perform caseworker functions within structured time frames.
Special Requirements
:
This employee will be required to perform other duties as assigned in smalloffice. This employee will also be called upon in case of a natural or man-made disaster to provide otherduties including working extended hours/nights and days in emergency shelters, etc.
