CODE ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATOR/FLOODPLAIN MANAGER

An employee in this class inspects and enforces compliance with building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical codes for the county. Considerable independent judgment and initiative must be exercised in carrying out all administrative and technical phases of work. This employee is accountable to the Economic Development and Planning Director and work is evaluated in terms of the efficiency of the department.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience in an administrative capacity.
  • Standard Certification from the Department of Insurance for Plumbing, Building, Mechanical, and Electrical Code Enforcements with two years technical experience.
  • Satisfactory completion of the Lawand Admin community college course required. NC Floodplain Manager Certification or ability to obtain.

Special Requirements:Valid NC Driver's License
