Munson Healthcare Nephrology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Traverse City, Michigan

JOIN MUNSON HEALTHCARE’S NEPHROLOGY TEAM!

Munson Healthcare Kidney & Hypertension Specialists, in beautiful Traverse City, MI, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their team.

The practice currently consists of four nephrologists and four APPs. The nephrology APP will assist by providing consultations and patient care to improve follow up availability, efficiency and quality care. In this position, you will practice in both an acute care setting and an outpatient clinic.

The APP will perform functions based on professional judgment and discussion with the physician, knowledge of physician preference, and written policies of the institution.

  • Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times.

  • Working closely with the Nephrologists and Medical Center Medical Staff, provides effective and efficient care for both episodic and continuity patients in the dialysis programs and hospital inpatient. This will include the initial evaluation of patients and providing, under the direction of the Nephrologists, ongoing care for patients to which they are assigned.

  • Responsibility for episodic and longitudinal care of patients who are admitted to the dialysis centers and to Munson Medical Center.

  • History and physical assessment, performing patient rounds, patient follow-up, family support, and other tasks as designated by the Nephrologists.

  • Coordinates referrals for other medical services.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

    Licensed by the State of Michigan to practice as a Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant.

    Physician Assistant

  • Master of Physician Assistant studies (MPAS), Master of Health Science (MHS) or Master of Medical Science (MMSC) and is board certified as a Physician Assistant.

  • Maintains continuous certification related to CNP or PA training.

    Nurse Practitioner

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.

  • Master of Science degree in Nursing and is ANCC or ACNP board certified as a Nurse Practitioner.
