Stanley Black and Decker Senior Product Manager in Towson, Maryland
Position Overview: Within the Outdoor Power Equipment Division of Stanley Black & Decker we are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support and develop major product lines in multiple retail, commercial and industrial settings. The Senior Product Manager will research, evaluate, and develop the product line positioning. This role requires strong project management skills and the ability to effectively work with others across the organization including: engineering, brand marketing, IT, sales, and supply chain. Ideal candidates should be self-motivated individuals with a strong work ethic that have experience managing the complete life cycle of products, conducting market research, and a strong financial acumen.
The Job (responsibilities):
Responsible for development and execution of a comprehensive strategic plan for the profitable management of positioning, gross margins, collateral materials & point-of-purchase.
Conduct user research to identify market opportunities and drive decision making for projects in development
Manage and lead the milestone process for new product development, ensuring the process is followed correctly.
Manage the complete product lifecycle process
Understand the trends in the industry and related industries and develop a deep understanding of the end user in order to incorporate these insights into successful new product launches.
Provide product training to internal and external stake holders.
The Person (requirements):
Significant experience (min. 5 years) in Product development
Proven experience in the consumer goods on construction goods industry
Financial acumen and analytical ability with a strategic mindset
Strong research skills, with attention to detail
MS Office
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Presentation skills - to be able to create and present product updates to both small and large audiences.
End user obsession, consumer-first mindset
Strong motivation with ability to prioritize while not losing sight of the broad picture
A "can-do" attitude - the desire to go above and beyond in all you do
Team spirit combined to a high level of autonomy.
Role is hybrid with 3 days per week based out of our Towson Office
