Ute Mountain Casino Controller in Towaoc, Colorado
Position Summary
Accountable for the accurate and timely preparation, analysis, control and distribution of casino financial information, statements, records and reports as directed; insuring for the overall care, control and management of casino assets, revenue, funds, in accordance with standard operating procedures, tribal and state gaming regulations, federal and state regulations, tribal/state compact and governing regulations, casino minimum internal controls (MICS); departmental policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED; At least 21 years of age (required). BA/BS 4-year degree (required) in accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited institution. MBA or related advanced degree a plus. CPA preferred but not required. Five (5) plus years of recent financial/accounting experience including significant revenue audit and cage cash management responsibilities, and GL in a systems-based environment. Indian Gaming experience highly preferred. At least 2 years of gaming industry experience required. Fundamental knowledge of GAAP accounting principles; Anti-Money Laundering / Title 31 requirements, and knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices and reporting. Strong computer skills and proficiency in relevant accounting software - Dynamics GP a plus; MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PP). Knowledge/Experience with AR, AP, FA/PA a plus. Knowledge/Experience of state/federal statutes regarding accounting and financial requirements.
