ROLE PURPOSE
In this newly created position, we are looking for a detail-oriented IT Asset Manager to join our team and play a critical role in managing all aspects of our organisation’s technology assets, ensuring efficient utilisation, compliance, cost control and security are all in place.
Develop and implement procedures for tracking both hardware and software IT assets to oversee quality control, support and management throughout their lifecycles. In addition, you will assist the IT Vendor Manager in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization.
You will be a key player and responsible for establishing better reporting and management of the full lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring effective governance through policies, controls, and standards.
Your responsibility will be to maintain a detailed inventory of these assets, using the gathered information to guide IT-related purchases and redistribution decisions.
This role will require you to lead and make strategic decisions, optimising spending and driving the Asset Management best practice & processes moving forward across the orgnisation.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the global implementation of Hardware Asset Management programs, working closely with global executives and their teams to introduce and embed new processes.
Define and enhance methods for identifying hardware and software assets, including versioning and dependencies within the asset management tools.
Managing the global inventory of IT hardware and software licenses and other technology assets.
Governance / Monitoring compliance, manage inventories, and ensure accurate record-keeping across all asset stages.
Develop and maintain the Hardware Asset Register and manage the asset lifecycle from acquisition to disposal.
Create and manage compliance reports, support internal audits, and provide key performance indicators to leadership.
Develop and implement a global license management process, procedure, and policy, delivering clear visibility of our software estate.
Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with partners in finance, IT Vendor Management and the business to negotiate contracts with vendors.
Develop procurement strategies that optimize technology spending across the organization
Working with the IT Technical Writer to develop and maintain documentation related to technology assets, including policies, procedures, and inventory records.
Explore opportunities for maximizing or exploiting unused or partially used IT assets to achieve full efficiency and ROI from company resources.
Conduct and report software asset reconciliation and audit activities on a timely basis, including financial, licensing, warranty, and maintenance/support contract information.
Monitor and analyse trends in company spending and inventory control in order to make recommendations for the future, and to identify areas for possible savings and/or asset optimization
Where possible, standardize equipment to lower total costs across the Group.
Manage the disposal cycles of IT assets and hardware data assets in accordance with regulatory standards.
Establish and maintain thorough documentation for procedures, processes, and asset and configuration management reports.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level:
5-8 years of experience in IT Asset Management.
ITIL V3/4 certification is essential;
A technical degree or professional qualification
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Expertise in IT asset management governance and service management best practices.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to engage, influence, and diplomatically drive the adoption of new processes across global teams.
E xcellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and patterns.
Proven experience in technology asset management, including setting up and implementing processes globally and across teams
Strong understanding of hardware, software, licensing, and infrastructure.
Strong familiarity and technical competence with asset management software and/or inventory-tracking systems, including ServiceNow& MS Intune.
Creative problem-solving skills.
Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills.
Strong relationship, interpersonal, and team skills.
Highly self-motivated and directed.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ideal candidates will have experience deploying ITAM tools and discovery tools, such as ServiceNow or SMTP.
Expertise in building and cleaning reports and databases, with a strong background in data collection and analysis.
Experience working with a CMDB and the specific business services IT supports.
