What You Will Do:
Adheres to the facility and daily schedule, ensures that the facility (unit, cottage, house, room, dorm, etc.) is on time for all elements and the students participate in all of the scheduled activities.
Completes daily assignments as specified by the Group Leader or higher authority, including duties of a Coach Counselor.
Promotes a sense of community by teaching and modeling cooperation, respect, and responsibility in the group living environment; encouraging participants to interact with one another and creating opportunities for them to do so.
Observes behavior patterns of students in order to detect signs of depression, anger, and/or other emotional and situational problems/issues and initiates proper program behavior management and intervention techniques.
Encourages and supports the students’ academic, vocation, athletic and treatment participation.
To Be Considered:
Internal applicants must be a Coach Counselor with no less than standard performance and at least 90 days of experience at Rite of Passage in a Coach Counselor or higher Direct Care Position. Staff in this position must have completed Initial Qualifications Training (Tech 22) prior to placement in this position.
External candidates must have 1-year prior experience working with at-risk youth in a similar position as a Coach Counselor or higher Direct Care position or at least 60 hours of college education in a directly related field of study. Staff must complete Operations, Treatment and Human Resources Essential Subject Training within 6 months of placement in the position.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Able to work Monday through Friday shifts from 2pm - 10pm.
