We are in search of a Project Accountant to join our team in the construction industry, based in Torrance, California. In this role, you will be accountable for processing client payments, managing customer accounts, and ensuring that customer inquiries are resolved promptly. Furthermore, you will be tasked with maintaining accurate customer credit records.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications

• Maintaining precise customer credit records

• Regularly communicating with customers regarding overdue payments and escalating issues when necessary

• Reviewing new project contracts to identify unique billing and change order terms

• Creating and submitting monthly invoices for contracted work based on project completion percentages

• Matching customer payments to billings and resolving any discrepancies

• Preparing and sending payment release waivers to clients when required

• Maintaining and reviewing a list of potential problem accounts with management, noting critical details such as payment history and exposure amounts

• Supporting the financial and operational needs of the project team

• Using software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP and Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks.

Requirements • Applicant must have proficiency in Account Reconciliation, ensuring all financial records are accurate and in order.

• Demonstrated expertise in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) is required, including invoicing, tracking payments, and resolving discrepancies.

• Experience in Billing is essential, including creating, sending, and tracking invoices.

• Familiarity with Cash Applications procedures is necessary, specifically in applying cash received to customer accounts.

• Capabilities in Cash Collections are vital, including contacting customers to arrange payment and maintaining detailed collection records.

• A background in Commercial Collections is needed, including knowledge of commercial credit and collections laws.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, such as creating spreadsheets, using complex formulas, and data analysis.

• Experience with Oracle financial software is necessary, including managing financial data and generating reports.

• Familiarity with QuickBooks is essential, specifically in managing financial transactions and generating financial reports.

• Knowledge of SAP financial software is required, including managing financial transactions, generating reports, and analyzing data.
