Job Location: Torrance, CA

Salary Range: $93,000 - $96,000 /yr

Responsibilities

  • Ensure weekly/ Daily plans are met involving all key players in your team/IPT.

  • Ensure all work is completed on time and to specification.

  • Responsible for mentoring, leading and supervising employees

  • Supervise the production flow within their respective area and ensuring safety and the efficiency of entire shop floor.

  • Coordinate with engineering and other departments to minimize production interruptions.

  • Help set daily/weekly goals with scheduling team and communicate any/all blockers.

  • Meet tight production schedules to achieve high-rate production.

  • Train and onboard newly hired employees to make sure they understand their roles.

  • Drive shop floor culture, enforce systems and corporate policies.

  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production.

  • Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment.

  • Enforce safe work practices.

  • Correct and Prevent lingering Unsafe workplace conditions or hazards.

  • Investigate workplace accidents Maintain safety training and/or safety certifications.

  • Work with technicians, manufacturing engineers, and quality teams to resolve reoccurring nonconformance issues.

  • Perform root cause analysis and the implementation of corresponding corrective action plans.

  • Review work instructions to ensure shop floor operators have accurate and complete instructions and if necessary, recommendation changes.

  • Developing performance goals collaboratively with their direct reports

  • Ensuring that performance goals are clearly communicated and current.

  • Providing fair, constructive, and timely feedback towards performance expectations and goals

  • Providing assistance, guidance, and coaching support as needed

  • Ensuring that staff have professional development plans in place.

  • Monitor labor hours and overtime, and implement improvement plans and time management with staff.

  • Ensure that business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met.

  • Schedule risk identification and mitigation

  • Capacity planning of equipment and personnel

  • Identify reduction opportunities and reduce downtime for product and personnel.

  • Monitor, track and continually improve the total cost equation (HPU’s, utilization/ scrap)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with lean manufacturing principles and efficiency methods

  • Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production.

  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production.

  • Experience with applying lean manufacturing principles.

  • Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment.

  • Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy

  • Safety training and/or safety certifications

  • Lean manufacturing training and experience

  • Experience monitoring, tracking and continually improving the total cost equation.

  • Experience with applying lean manufacturing principles, efficiency methods.

  • Experience solving manufacturing problems related to incapable processes and or designs.

  • Demonstrated record of high-performance

Additional Requirements:

  • This is a salaried role.

  • Position may require long hours and weekend work.
