Honeywell Mechanical Design Engineer I in Torrance, California

As a Mechanical Design Engineer I here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of thermal management systems and components. You will work closely with senior engineers to contribute to the creation of innovative and high-quality products. Your role will involve conducting analysis and simulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects.

You will report directly to our Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, and you will work out of our Torrance, CA location. This role is eligible for hybrid work mode, except for the first 90 days.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by contributing to the development of cutting-edge products that meet the needs of our customers. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will be crucial in ensuring the reliability and performance of our mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement system models using mathematical and simulation tools

  • Conduct analysis and simulations to evaluate system performance and identify areas for improvement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and develop optimized solutions

  • Provide technical expertise and support to project teams throughout the system development lifecycle

  • Document and communicate analysis results and recommendations to stakeholders

    The application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.

    The annual base salary range for this position is $76,500 - $95,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

    U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

    Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

    YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • Strong knowledge of thermal fluid science, particularly the thermodynamics of cycles

  • Proficiency in coding (preferably C++)

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
