Department Overview:

TD Legal is a team dedicated to providing legal advice and counsel to all TD business segments (Retail, Wealth, Insurance, Wholesale, Business Banking) as well as the Corporate Functions including Corporate Development, Enterprise Real Estate, Strategic Sourcing, Treasury, Global Anti-Money Laundering and Enterprise Technology & Shared Services).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Legal Invoice Management. Responsible for supporting invoicing processes, including:

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable policies

  • Administering the e-Billing tool (TyMetrix 360)

  • Onboarding and training of new TyMetrix users

  • Ensuring invoices are flowing through the e-Billing tool accurately

  • Maintaining workflows in TyMetrix

  • Handling billing questions from internal and eternal partners

  • Working with KMSE team members for system maintenance as needed

  • Keeping up to date on the latest ebilling trends and developments, including UTBMS code changes

  • Keeping up to date on the latest development in LEDES, the standardized ebilling protocol used within TD Bank

  • Help manage AFA spend within the e-Billing tools

  • Collaborate with technology support team members to identify, address and escalate technical issues with TyMetrix

  • Collaborate with the Legal Vendor Management Office and the Legal Knowledge Management and Strategic Enablement team to find process improvements in the end to end management of legal vendors and matters.

  • Provide ongoing support, communications and training to internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, legal department colleagues and TD stakeholders

  • Ensure all applicable control and compliance activities are documented, complete and accurate

  • Provide functional / business level communications to ensure messages to stakeholders and/or employees are consistent, appropriate and aligned to business risk strategies and executive management direction

  • Support the management of legal department vendor relationships through their lifecycle from beginning to end in accordance with applicable frameworks, policies and standards, including third party risk management

  • Support reporting and compliance activities associated with various TD policies

  • Work closely with team members to support TD Legal's legal support provider program

  • Assist with the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to maximize efficiencies

  • Support the development of policies and procedures

  • Assist in writing appropriate training material, job aids and other forms of end user reference materials.

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and projects

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or related educational qualifications

  • At least 3 X years of relevant working experience, including legal billing management

  • Knowledge and experience in supporting vendor (or client) programs

  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in areas of focus

  • Experience in a corporate legal department or law firm preferred

  • Process improvement experience an asset

Requirements:

  • Skill in using legal e-Billing and matter management software

  • Experience with TyMetrix 360 and Persuit an asset

  • Ability to build relationships internally as well as externally

  • Attention to detail; ability to process large amounts of information with high levels of accuracy

  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to interpret and analyze complex issues and develop and implement plans

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment

  • Skill in using general office applications including MS Office

  • Proficiency with Excel

  • Highest personal & professional integrity & standards

  • Ability and commitment to advance TD'S vision & protect the brand

  • Excellent judgment, including achieving the right risk/reward balance
