Purpose:

Manages and contributes to the overall success of the GWO FX Options Operations team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The Senior Manager, FX Options Operations, is responsible for leading and managing the change and business growth strategies. FX operations team with core functional accountabilities in confirmation, settlements and cash control processes.  This includes managing day to day operations, staff development, performance management, process and control review, strategic use of technology, as well as the proactive identification and incorporation of changes required to support new regulations, changing business needs, and senior management’s strategies and goals.

The Senior Manager coordinates work items and projects, and manages relationships with external trade counterparties and internal partners including the Front Office (FO), Operations, Technology, Legal Counsel, Risk Management and Compliance, both locally and internationally.

Specialized Accountabilities :

Creation and maintenance of standard confirmation templates for FX Options (Vanilla, Exotic and Structured products)

Confirmation drafting for complex/structured products and product variations

Liaise with business and project stakeholders and legal counsel for timely delivery of confirmation templates to support product roll outs

Provide product knowledge expertise as training to operations team to develop strong knowledge and support structure for sustained business growth.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Oversees and maintains the operational activities and processes originating from FXO, conducted by GBM. Activity supported is conducted by various Front Office Trading & Sales desks located in multiple geographic locations and jurisdictions. Examples of activities include but are not limited to trade confirmation, cash-flow settlement, cash control.

  • Drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge while continuing to promote a cross product and entity/business line agnostic working mindset.

  • Acts as the primary point for escalation on operational concerns that impact the delivery and quality of services to the individual business lines and to their clients. Provides effective incident management support during technology/platform disruptions and outages. Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Identifies and evaluates various automation and technology solutions that improve productivity, cost, service support delivery, capacity, scale and standardization. Works collaboratively with GWRT to design and build the necessary technology platforms and/or tools. An active participant in appropriate working and governance structures to ensure effective prioritization of operational enhancements and future investments. Ensures strategic alignment and influence in GWO and S&C strategies, leveraging synergies to promote built to last outcomes.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

  • Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team; Set goals and performance expectations; Conduct annual performance reviews; Train staff to dynamically manage workloads across the operation and eliminate single points of failure; Ensure the department is appropriately staffed, with sufficient depth maintained for all key positions

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree (preferably Finance or Accounting)

  • Working experience in Capital Markets Operations

  • Strong FX Options background

  • Prior Leadership experience

Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
