Department Overview

The Global AML (GAML) Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) department is accountable for establishing TD's Global Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorist Financing, Economic Sanctions and Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption (collectively, AML) program to ensure that all TD businesses adhere with AML regulatory expectations in all jurisdictions where TD operates. This includes setting consistent standards across business segments that may be further tailored to specific business or jurisdictional requirements; conducting periodic enterprise-wide AML risk assessments; maintaining the Global AML Policy (including Know Your Customer and Enhanced Due Diligence, record keeping & retention requirements); currency transaction and suspicious transaction monitoring and reporting; screening TD customers against regulatory watch lists; a hierarchy of designated AML officer functions; enterprise-wide and specialized AML training of employees; and independent AML testing.

Job Description

The Senior Manager, AML FCRM Reporting will report to the AVP, AML, Strategic Insights, Reporting and Oversight.

Individual Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development and production of reporting on the Global AML Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) program for the Board and Bank executive governance committees.

  • Partner with appropriate stakeholders to prepare speaking notes for the Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer (CAMLO) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) as appropriate.

  • Prepare various presentations for the CAMLO and Deputy CAMLO provide to support effective oversight of the Global AML FCRM program.

  • Manage various requests from the Office of CRO, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Global Compliance, and other departments.

  • Prepare reporting for the CAMLO and CRO, as required, on the adequacy and effectiveness of the AML FCRM program.

  • Develop and maintain procedures, guidelines, and templates to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of AML FCRM reporting.

  • Review and synthesize data and information to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting in alignment with reporting standards, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Partner with stakeholders to streamline the submission of information and commentary to facilitate identification and reporting of program enhancements and key risks and issues.

  • Lead innovation and automation initiatives across the function to enhance reporting, analytics and deliver actionable insights for effective and holistic oversight of the Global AML FCRM program.

  • Provide thought leadership for innovation and automation across the function including continuous improvement initiatives to deliver sustainable and scalable improvements.

  • Address any issues and audit findings related to senior management reporting and oversight.

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholder groups, including Corporate Secretary's office, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, and Internal Audit.

Job Requirements:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in AML, compliance, or risk management.

  • University degree is preferred.

  • CAMS or other AML or financial crimes risk management designation would be an asset.

  • Strong executive-level communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Proven ability to synthesize and communication complex information.

  • Passionate about innovation and automation with strong track record of delivering sustainable and scalable technology solutions to enhance reporting and insights.

  • Solid organizational skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities.

  • People leadership and management experience focused on talent development and coaching to nurture a high performing team.

  • Ability to operate in an evolving, sometimes ambiguous, matrixed environment.

  • Ability to deliver on objectives, focusing on what matters, and can build effective working relationships with cross-functional and cross-jurisdictional stakeholder groups.
