Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week

Status: Permanent Full-time

University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Senior Business Analyst in our CBARR department.

As an integral member of the Corporate Finance team, the responsibilities of the Senior Business Analyst will vary from assignment to assignment including:

  • Lead a team of three analysts responsible for client billing and collection, and reporting

  • Provide sound and timely information to management to facilitate optimal decision making

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages and dashboards for management to facilitate the decision making and financial reporting process

  • Prepare monthly financial month-end journal entries and reconciliations relevant to the department

  • Assist Manager and Director on monthly/quarterly financial review process including: providing financial information and/or requested management reports; assist with follow-up of action plans

  • Review and prepare annual balance sheet budget and maintain up-to-date forecasts for assigned accounts

  • Assist with audits, perform in-depth written analysis

  • Identify accounting issues, process issues and make solid recommendation

  • Lead, actively participate and contribute in interdisciplinary meetings with different client groups

  • Modelling and analyzing large volume of billing data and provide support to clinical departments and their finance leads

  • Assist with annual Provincial Consolidation file preparation and submission

  • Performs cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested, including providing training and back-up support for other financial analyst, as required

  • Performs other duties consistent with the job classification such as business analysis and cash modeling, as required

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or business degree with relevant experience

  • Computer software proficiency in SAP and Advanced Excel, with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, and provide business recommendations

  • Experience in a healthcare environment preferred

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize work

  • Excellent verbal and communication skills

  • Ability to take initiative and embrace challenges

  • Excellent customer services skills

  • Adheres to confidentiality policy for sensitive financial data and information and is able to adhere to UHN policies and procedures

  • Ability to work accurately under time constraints

  • Experience with process improvement

  • Critical thinking skills and willingness to challenge the status quo

  • Ability to work independently and as a great team player who brings the positive impact to the team and thrives in a changing environment

  • A strong service orientation with a passion to advance the mission of UHN
