What you’ll be doing

The Senior Audit Manager is a an integral member of the Global Audit Methodology Team in Professional Practices Centre (PPC), responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of audit methodology and ensuring adherence to various policies and procedures within the Internal Audit Department. This position involves interacting with audit teams in Canada and the United States and reports directly to the Senior Director, Methodology and Governance.

How you’ll succeed

  • Implement audit methodology – Assist with the development and implementation of audit methodology, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements in Canada and the United States (e.g., SR 13-1, Standards of Institute of Internal Auditors). Maintain all audit methodology guides, manuals and templates to ensure all guidance is up to date and refreshed in accordance with respective timelines. Support Senior Audit Director, Methodology and Governance, prepare for discussions with Senior Management and regulators by compiling all supporting evidence requested.

  • Annual planning – Assist with the development of the annual audit plan for the Internal Audit Department, including developing the tools and guidance for audits teams to leverage throughout the process. Assist with the development of specific aspects of training for the annual audit plan and deliver training to respective individuals involved in the process.

  • Collaboration - Support other team members in developing material for Audit Committee reporting for both Canada and the United States. Support teams through the implementation of new methodology changes by running workshops or pilots. Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to develop and deliver training on significant methodology changes to the broader Internal Audit Department. Provide guidance to audit teams on the audit methodology, including continuous monitoring activities.

  • Engage with various regulators – Assist in the remediation of regulatory findings by updating existing guidance or creating new guidance. Stay abreast of emerging audit standards, regulations, and best practices.

Who you are

  • You’re a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing with an auditing or accounting designation (CA, CPA, CIA).

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

  • You have 8 years of experience in internal or external audit.
