What You’ll Be Doing

The Senior AI Data Scientist is integral to the Decision Science team, driving advanced predictive analytics and machine learning to enhance client personalization while ensuring rigorous model governance. Reporting to the Director, Decision Science , the Sr. AI Data Scientist collaborates with model validation teams to ensure compliance with governance standards, addresses complex technical inquiries, and develops machine learning models on platforms like Databricks. The Decision Science team is a central hub of data science expertise within Personal and Business Banking, and is leading the way in applying the best practices in predictive data science and machine learning, leveraging massive datasets and the latest in big data technology platforms to truly revolutionize personalization to drive client experience. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of model governance and validation to ensure the reliability and integrity of our predictive models.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Collaboration – Maintain good cross-functional collaboration with model validation teams to ensure compliance with model governance policies and procedures, responding to complex technical questions about existing predictive model methodologies and data. Build new predictive machine learning models on Databricks by collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and independently executing solutions. Work closely with other senior data scientist and modelers to facilitate effective dissemination of model related documents and model governance and model performance to business partners.

  • Data Science - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in model validation and governance practices. Develop and maintain documentation for model development, validation, and monitoring processes, conduct automated reviews and assessments of models to ensure they meet performance benchmarks, build ML AI models using open source languages on Databricks.

  • Business Consulting - Provide analytical solutions to solve business problems by leveraging statistical, machine learning and optimization techniques. Automate model reviews, maintaining governance documentation, and delivering innovative solutions to business challenges. Conduct business problem assessment independently. Gather relevant information related to business processes, functions and operations to evaluate data credibility and quality. Utilize creative thinking to modify or select the most suitable procedure/approach to solve a business problem. Perform in-depth analysis for the purpose of identifying revenue generation and cost saving opportunities, developing proposals and make recommendations for model usage to the downstream partners. Ensure that deliverables are met in a timely manner and that the quality of analytics business sign-off on delivery related initiatives related to the analytics standards

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 3 to 5 years of work experience in open source coding such as Python, PySpark etc. with experience on Cloud. It’s an asset if you have experience in SAS.

  • You can demonstrate 3 to 5 years of work experience with Python machine learning frameworks and libraries like scikit-learn and TensorFlow. It’s an asset if you have knowledge of R, including tidyverse and machine learning libraries.

  • You can demonstrate work e xperience with data governance tools and platforms, such as Databricks Unity Catalog. You can successfully demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure the quality and integrity of predictive models.

  • You have a M aster’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.

  • You're digitally savvy. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends.
