Position Overview
As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead the Project Management and Quality team for the quality program on a project in your assigned location.
District Overview
Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. We serve the construction and mining industries and operate in Eastern Canada.
Location
This position will be based out of our Oakville office and project site locations in downtown Toronto. The successful candidate will be available to travel between locations.

Responsibilities
Be conversant in design and construction quality practices and contract models
Create and manage Quality Assurance programs for design and construction,
Generate project quality assurance and management plans and related administration for maintaining compliance and/or related registrations
Produce professional work, meeting requirements and maintaining compliance with the Kiewit corporate, project and ISO9001 quality programs
Work closely with project management and quality teams for the development and implementation of the project quality system(s) in compliance with the project contract requirements under ISO 9001 registered or complaint programs
Train and manage assigned and related personnel in quality assurance requirements and activities.
Hold a current ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification. Additional certification in ISO 14001 and 18001 not necessary, but beneficial.
Be conversant in related project quality control methods and processes, including experience with established industry technical standards and requirements, specifications, procedures, inspection & test plans and work methods / instructions
Align quality assurance objectives with construction processes to achieve product reliability and minimize cost
Confer with management personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as procedures, complaints, and construction quality / process issues
Plan and lead / conduct audits with vendors, subcontractors, staff, and management personnel regarding quality assurance in quality management plans; encompassing procurement, procedures, product requirements, reporting.
Ability to lead / conduct root cause analyses
Plan, generate, evaluate quality reporting and related KPIs and metrics
Issue notice of non-conformances. Conferring with clients, and quality personnel to document incidents, contract requirements, and recommend pragmatic corrective actions
Determine staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employees
Analyze operations and requirements with respect to evaluate performance, meeting objectives, and to determine areas of potential risk or cost reduction, program improvement, or policy changes
Assist other projects and regions as needed in the implementation of Quality Assurance programs and standards of achieving excellence & best practices.
Qualifications
Construction Management, Engineering or related bachelor’s degree
Lead Auditor training in ISO 9001.
5 - 8 years of experience in Quality Management related to Infrastructure construction
Proven background as a Quality Management professional in large scope infrastructure or related projects. Preference on experience related to complex design-build infrastructure projects such as Alliance, P3, DB in transportation, power, heavy civil / industrial
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative and providing facilitating solutions
Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time. Demonstrated commitment to ethics and high degree of professional integrity
Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Team player with the ability to work independently to set and meet deadlines, goals and objectives
Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
