What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Executive Director, Training & Development, the Senior Designer, Training & Development is responsible for contributing to the strategic direction of the Training and Development programs and content for CIBC Private Wealth. The Senior Designer plays a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining content and supporting materials leveraged by training and development for all Private Wealth Management business units. The focus is to work primarily with Wood Gundy, Private Banking, CPIC and other Private Wealth teams and lines of business by providing a high-quality learner experience through the design and development of our various programs. This includes the licensing programs, development programs and other initiatives, workshops and support material while increasing sales force capability and business practices to improve salesforce effectiveness.

How you’ll succeed

  • Collaboration with Key Partners for Program Design Work- Work in collaboration with the Executive Director, Directors, Sr. Learning Strategy Consultants of Training & Development/Practice Management Consultants and Private Wealth partners to design and develop programs based on the strategic priorities of the business. Following a disciplined approach, work with the training/practice management contacts to develop the strategy to address the learner needs creating a best-in-class employee experience. Design and develop the content/materials and ongoing coaching support tools leveraging existing materials, ensuring consistent and significant focus on leveraging adult learning principles. Bring our purpose behaviours (Always Professional, Radically Simple, Genuinely Caring) to life to deliver on our client commitments. Identify and update any existing material that is impacted by the initiative. Develop a feedback loop and work with the training/partner contacts to continually enhance the material based on feedback. Proactively identify areas of opportunities to enhance training/practice management support by leveraging analytics (i.e. PriceMetrics, reporting) and feedback from the Managing Directors, Branch leadership, Advisors, learners and the team.

  • Build and maintain a centralized inventory of material to create efficiencies and consistency across the teams, which encompasses having a repository for training programs (including licensing), workshops, support material leveraged internally and by advisor teams. Ensure Records Retention standards are adhered to for all material and programs.

  • Content Management & Maintenance- Create, document and implement processes to support consistent management and oversight of training materials while ensuring translation, quality assurance, and storage align with standards, policies and record retention lifecycle. Manage and maintain content on the PW intranet and Workday (corporate Learning Management System) that supports the PW Training & Development teams. Keep apprised of changes/ standards set by the CIBC intranet team/ Talent Development. Update and understand how strategic initiatives impact existing material and programs. Keep up to date on best practices to ensure we are leveraging the resources to create a positive employee experience. Work in collaboration with key partners (Marketing, Wealth Solutions, Business Risk, etc) to ensure content/supporting documents are aligned and kept up to date with changes. Develop relationships with key partners to build awareness of initiatives that may impact content. Work in collaboration with key partners by providing insight and expertise on strategic initiatives on behalf of the Training.

  • Explore innovative ways to deliver content & tools- Work with the Executive Director, Training & Development to explore innovative ways to deliver content and develop tools to support our teams. Keep informed on industry changes and best practices that support Advisor excellence and best in class client experience. Also liaise with Talent Development to ensure we are consistent and aligned with their requirements and leverage any innovations and content management approaches and best practices.

  • Business Growth & Operational Effectiveness- Be a key participant on the training team to support key Private Wealth goals. Work collaboratively with the Directors and Executive Director, Training along with Private Wealth leadership to align with the overall strategic direction. Implement and adhere to CIBC wide policies and regulatory requirement. You will devote time to strategic policy, regulatory, audit and compliance matters.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 8-10 years of experience in the industry with highly developed knowledge of the wealth management business. You have previous design and development experience leveraging various tools such as Microsoft Office and Sharepoint, Rise and Articulate programs. Experience and knowledge on Content Management processes and systems.

  • You have an undergraduate degree i n business or economics, and/or Masters in Education or equivalent work experience.

  • You are strong team player and work well with team members and partners and have a client/learner focused approach . You have strong influencing skills and business acumen to be able to collect information, analyze and manipulate the data. You can apply these analytical/conceptual skills in creative ways to solve business issues/challenges and problems.
