This Opportunity

We are currently looking to fill a Part Time, Personal Support Worker role for the location of: 341 Bloor Street Toronto .

The startng wage is $21.58, inclusive of the $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario Government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave.

You may be eligible for the Ontario PSW Return of Service Incentive program. Recent PSW graduates could receive $10,000 for 12 months of service. Roles and responsibilities

  • Assists consumers in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:

  • Personal Care

  • Lifts and transfers

  • Rising/Retiring

  • Bowel and bladder proceedures

  • Meal preparation and feeding

  • Range of motion exercises

  • Other light housekeeping duties

  • Performs duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains consumer and staff health and safety.

Qualifications and experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification

  • Experience working with people with physical disabilities, experience/knowledge/understanding of independant living or consumer based care

  • Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties

  • Physical Demands Self-Analysis required upon hire

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work flexible and regulary scheduled hours
