What Is the Opportunity?

Performance Quality Engineers work with teams and the Engineering community to evolve our approach to test performance and the tooling used to ensure software is of high quality. With a strong understanding of the desired approach to ensuring quality, they coach and partner side by side with Architects, Software and Data Engineers to analyze complex software systems, current quality practices, frameworks, and tools to identify opportunities for improvement in software quality. They work in partnership with engineers to implement those improvements leveraging their expertise to solve complex issues.

What Will You Do?

As a Performance Quality Engineer you plan and execute work packages within a large project or across a specific set of smaller projects. You use your in-depth performance testing knowledge to test applications web-based service oriented in multi-platform environment. You collaborate with technical staff and work under minimal supervision. Experience with performance profiling and analyzing tools, preferably Dynatrace tool, is required. Performance Quality Engineer will develop and maintain performance tests assets for performance test existing and new applications, develop test scenarios and scripts, set up and execute performance tests, utilize the Rally test management and provide Status Report on Performance Testing progress.

The Performance Quality Engineer role & responsibilities include:

  • Lead/Support Travelers Canada in developing and evolving a company specific Performance Testing Strategy and Approach.

  • Understand Industry best practices to the development of appropriate Performance Testing Frameworks.

  • Evaluate performance testing solutions to determine their appropriateness within Travelers Canada environment.

  • Follow established standards and methodologies to create and contribute to the development of Performance Test plans.

  • Plan and design performance test scenarios, create performance test scripts and test data, execute performance tests, and provide test results analysis along with observations.

  • Provide overall projects Status Report reporting highlighting testing progress of performance testing on projects including issues and risks.

  • Trouble-shoot test case and environment issues that arise during test execution.

  • Collaborate with staff on testing technical issues to improve technical proficiency and skill levels.

  • MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Review Non Functional Requirements (NFR), Architecture and Design documentation to provide cost effective and efficient performance testing solutions to business needs.

  • Design, develop and execute performance tests consistent with the P & C business applications (e.g. Claims, Policy, and Operational Data Environment) and business requirements, that are of high quality, cost effective and that produce the desired results.

  • Ensure / Perform performance tests for all levels of testing (e.g., including unit, integration, system-integration) and all types of performance testing (e.g., stress, load, soak, benchmark test), to ensure that applications will perform according to NFRs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Three to Five years of working experience in the planning and executing Performance Testing

  • Guidewire application Performance testing experience.

What is a Must Have?

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience.

  • Two years of programming/development experience.
