Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Manager of Account Policy & External Reporting to join one of Canada's top electric utilities companies on a fulltime basis. Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will ensure company compliance with accounting standards and will be responsible for the support and review of financial reporting and disclosure requirements for annual and quarterly filings as set out by securities commissions or contractual requirements. This role will also ensure compliance with accounting standards and reporting requirements for purposes of reporting the company's consolidated results to the Province of Ontario. This role involves a high profile of interaction with senior management and various stakeholders across the organization in addition to interaction with the Province. Excitingly, this role also has the opportunity to contribute to the organization's public outreach, engagement, and education efforts as part of the company's commitment to growing its social license.

Skills and Requirements
* Canadian "CPA, CA" designation or International CPA in good standing of an international accounting body recognized in Canada (e.g., US CPA, CA/ACCA)
* 5+ years of accounting and reporting experience
* 3+ years experience at a public accounting firm
* People management experience
* Experience in reviewing/compiling financial statement consolidation working papers
* Experience in reviewing external financial reports (MD&A, financial statements, and AIF), and conducting technical accounting analysis
* Experience with IFRS and/or US GAAP, identifying key issues and assessing alternative solutions
* Experience with asset retirement obligations; impairment and goodwill testing; complex consolidations; purchase transactions; etc.
* University degree (ideally, in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting) or equivalent * Experience with public company reporting/processes for utilities, power, extractive or capital-intensive industries
* Experience with financial reporting in a rate-regulated environment
* Master's degree in accounting or an MBA
* Experience using IBM Cognos Disclosure Management and SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) software
* Exposure to various internal control environments
* Experience with digital transformation initiatives, including application implementations null
