Purpose of the position:

This position works with plant planning team and internal Materials organization to identify internal customer needs, create/execute plant ticket structure and drive it to shop floor. Actions centered on creating a functional, visual plan for plant ticketing execution. Improve and enhance known planning solutions to meet product requirements. Position manages indirectly using influence and logic. Cross-functionality required. Uses lean methods to drive the ticketing process to achieve a more effective, integrated and transparent supply chain. Manage and drive systems and producers to improve material movement into, through and out of the plant to support NA manufacturing. Understands available tech and standards. Consults with experts as needed at the appropriate level for the application. Avoids inappropriate levels of risk. Works within standard work for all planning and ticketing processes. Makes improvements to or enhances current processes within functional group. Documents accomplished work and follows management standards. Collects data and inputs to be used in making quality decisions. Consults with knowledge resources where appropriate. Makes decisions based on facts. Enhances standards, tools and processes used in decision making. Participates in cross-functional assignments, projects and other divisional initiatives for improved self-development. Actively participates in the change process. Brings creative ideas to the table and has innovative awareness. Applies creativity and innovation to assigned tasks. Recognizes and IDs problems. Primary Responsibilities

  • Transform the ticket needs into a usable and accurate plan the plant floor associates can be used to produce needed product. Drive improvement strategies to the shop floor within the plant planning systems.

  • Works close with Manufacturing Control Manager and planning team members to ensure focus is maintained to ensure the plants internal needs are met as well as external customers

  • Leadership responsibility and accountability for teaching and coaching shop floor associates on the planning and ticketing processes within the facility

  • Promote and be engaged in further implementation of efficient planning systems, including standard work, Kanban systems and other pull/lean systems. Engage in high quality analysis of plant planning operations to identify improvement initiatives

  • Participate in systems that continuously improve the movement of product through the facility. Perform and execute all other duties assigned by direct leadership.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, lean technologies or related fields

Experience:

  • Plant/manufacturing experience preferred.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in supply chain/planning field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of elements that make up the inter-plant material flow.

  • Knowledge of tire technology is a plus. Understanding of product delivery systems, including traditional scheduling systems, Kanban systems, Sequencing Heihunka, Bus Route's and Supermarket systems.

  • Strong computer skills necessary for plant scheduling management. Possess strong communication, business, technical, analytical and planning skills.

  • Ability to guide, mentor and teach others.

  • Ability to influence within the organization to accomplish goals.

  • Transformational execution ability for ticket and plant success.

  • PSMS or similar system familiarity.
