Position:EVS Housekeeper

Reports to:Housekeeping Supervisor

FLSA Status:Non-Exempt

Position Summary:Responsible for the daily maintenance, clean up, and repairs of the interior and exterior of the Casino property. Housekeepers are responsible for ensuring a clean and safe environment for all guests and staff. The ultimate responsibility is to ensure that the customer is impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and adds to the exceptional experience for each patron.

Essential Duties:

  • Vacuums, mops and sweeps floors, and casino entrances to ensure they are free of dirt and debris.
  • Cleans all slot machines, floors, windows, walls, and stairs on a daily basis throughout their shifts.
  • Removes all of the trash & debris from machines, the floors, and trash cans. The trash collected will then be deposited in the outside dumpsters.
  • Inspects gaming chairs for cleanliness and removes dirty chairs for proper disinfecting and cleaning as needed.
  • Cleans bathrooms in the Casino and in the Hotel lobby area multiple times each day, to include floor and fixtures.
  • Cleans all gaming devices, tables, and chairs associated with the casino floor.
  • Removes trash from the gaming area and cleans ash trays.
  • Cleans all associated support areas to include back of the house offices and restrooms as needed.
  • Completes daily projects in areas of hotel, kitchen or as directed.
  • Provides restorative services when emergencies arise, to include working alternate hours.
  • Cleans meeting rooms when not in operation, including floors, table bases, chairs and finishes.
  • Works cohesively with a team to accomplish assigned duties.
  • Restocks supplies as needed to ensure ample amount of inventory is kept on hand at all times.
  • Communicates daily activity to oncoming shifts, to ensure a smooth transition of shifts in the department.
  • Maintains courteous and effective working relationships with others, as well as guests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • General knowledge of cleaning procedures.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner while at the workplace.
  • Ability to multi-task, communicate effectively in both verbal and writing.
  • Ability to deal with diversity.
  • Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties in highly disruptive conditions.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of vacuum cleaner, buffer, ladder, Tommie lift, hand tools and a shop vac.
  • Knowledgeable with the use of cleaning supplies and the use, if necessary, of personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to take direction, as well as self-motivate to accomplish the needs of the facility.

  • Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds.
