HMT Tank Structural Project Engineer in Tomball, Texas

As a Structural Project Engineer specializing in Aluminum Dome Structures, you will play a crucial role in the design, analysis, and implementation of innovative dome projects. Your expertise in structural engineering, particularly with aluminum materials, will be essential in ensuring the successful completion of dome structures, meeting client requirements while adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge dome solutions for above ground storage tanks.

Responsibilities:

Specialized Design and Analysis: Utilize your expertise in structural engineering principles and aluminum materials to design and analyze dome structures. Perform detailed calculations, simulations, and finite element analyses to ensure structural integrity, design optimization, and safety of aluminum dome projects.

Project Management: Lead all aspects of aluminum dome projects from conception to completion, leveraging intercompany resources to achieve the delivery dates, design requirements, and quality deliverables to customers. Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets tailored to the unique requirements of end users. Coordinate with internal and external teams to understand the customer pain points and design drivers to provide an appropriate design.

Technical Leadership: Provide specialized technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers in the field of aluminum dome construction. Review and approve engineering drawings, reports, and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes.

Material Selection and Optimization: Select appropriate aluminum alloys and construction methods to optimize the performance and durability of dome structures. Evaluate alternative materials and fabrication techniques to enhance structural efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of all project activities, including design calculations, material specifications, and correspondence related to aluminum dome structures. Prepare comprehensive progress reports, presentations, and other deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of the latest advancements in aluminum engineering technology, fabrication techniques, and structural analysis software. Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement to enhance the performance and sustainability of aluminum dome projects.

Qualifications:

Required:

· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

· Fundamental of Engineer (FE) license required or must be obtained within 6 months.

· Minimum of [2] years of experience in structural engineering.

· Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000 and/or SolidWorks.

· Strong drafting and modelling ability with proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault software.

· Familiarity with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations governing aluminum construction (e.g. ASCE, AISC, IBC, EUROCODE).

Preferred:

· Strong knowledge of aluminum alloys, fabrication techniques, and construction methods specific to dome structures.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

· Demonstrated leadership abilities and project management skills in the context of aluminum dome projects.

· Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a passion for problem-solving.

Job Type:
