JOB REQUIREMENTS: Tomah Memorial Hospital EOE POSITION DETAILS Full-time with benefits, 80 hours in the two week pay period, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:30pm; no weekends, nights or holidays. JOB SUMMARY The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) provides organizational, receptionist and clerical support to the care of patients presenting to Acute Care Department under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Independent Practitioner (L.I.P.) within their scope of care. The HUC functions as a resource to members of the healthcare team as well as patients and visitors, is familiar with multiple Tomah Health resources and plays an integral role in communication across the continuum of care. MAJOR JOB FUNCTION Maintains an organized and businesslike environment at the nursing station in order to assist members of the health care team in the performance of their jobs despite high stress factors. Participates in health care planning to meet the total needs of patients. Assists in admission, transfer and discharge process of patient utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Performs clerical duties including coordinating admissions, answering phones, and entering electronic data. Demonstrates proficiency in regards to the computer documentation in multiple systems. Supports the healthcare team by anticipating and responding to team requests and patient needs.
